Trust -noun

𝔸 firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something:"relations have to be built on trust".

A loss of trust can start with a small thing. It can be a little white lie about a purchase or a left over packet in a drawer which should have been thrown out and repurchased such as sandwich bags or sweets bought for the family. Relationships can be made or lost on trust.

Wether by romantic, familia or a theraputic once trust is gone, it can be difficult to recover from. Everything the person says can sound like a lie. As a Counsellor I discuss trust a great deal. I ask them to reflect upon a time when they did trust the person. How did it feel, do you feel the lie was a one off and would you like to find a way to continue the relationship?

Depending on the answer to the this question I create a session plan. These sessions can help rebuild trust or support the betrayed person move on
